JACARANDA

The Jacaranda Pod was brought to my attention by a relative Phylies, who was visiting the Huntington Library Botanical Gardens this spring when she stumbled upon this amazing object. It’s beauty lies in the unusual structure of its’ oppositely paired, compound leaves that have a pretty ruffle around the edges. The two sides of the pod harmonize at the top, then pull away from one another, creating a volume of space between the two. I have rendered this charming pod in earrings and pendants with lots of movement, and added sparkling diamonds to accent the dimension of this marvelous plant.
